Birth of a Monster

The rain continued to pour down on him.  He could hear his heart pounding in his ears as his beaten muscles attempt to get his form upright on the wet pavement.  His bones are fragile, some already broken and others on the edge.  Blood drips from his forehead, hands and legs; the rain hides it all from what little sense reaction he still has.

Birth of a Monster, Part IIThe soft humming of electrical devices and an incessant, consistent beeping noise slowly stirred him from his dreamless sleep.  As his eyes creeped open and his vision began to sharpen, he noticed uncannily sterile walls from under his dark brown hair and caught scent of the unmistakable smell of a hospital room.  He finally derived the beeping from the heart monitor attached to him, and the hum from the light above the other machines in the room.  The television across from his bed was on, and the voices were faded in the background as he tried to connect his last memory to his current situation.

Really, not a whole lot has been going on. got my job back, and lots of hours = more money for me to spend on training tools. XD But I also need to save up, since apparently NOT being a full-time student means no more loan (even though they SAID they would still pay for me, considering I'm taking all the credits possible for me), and I need to cover housing and health insurance. So now I'm balanced between work and training. No more social life, but that's no real surprise. Unless I'm on campus, I don't really have a social life. This state sucks for any kind of activity.

Oh yeah, those who know... When I have my Shodan test coming up, I will give you plenty of head's up. I will be throwing a huge party celebrating my commencement along the path of training. You read that properly - I will only be beginning at Shodan level. For those who are too American to know what Shodan is, that's Black belt level. Which, despite what you think, is actually the START of a martial artist's true training. Yeah, it means a lot in America.. but you don't really have a clue what the hell you're doing at that point. Still, I will have come along quite a way, and I will want to celebrate.
